UFPIA’s Clean-Ups (Umuganda)

UFPIA’s Clean-Ups (Umuganda)

Our street cleaning days, called Umuganda, are held from 10:00am-Noon on the second Saturday of each month from April through November (except for the months of April and October which will be held on the Mayor’s Clean Sweep days from 9:00am-Noon).

Meet at the community garden at 1827 E Pratt unless otherwise noted; bags will be provided but bring your gloves, broom and dust pan. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed.

Umuganda translates to “coming together in common purpose to achieve an outcome.” It is the Rwandan practice of monthly community service where citizens come together to clean their neighborhoods. In the spirit of community engagement and Baltimore pride, we are bringing Umuganda to Upper Fell’s Point.
