Welcome/Introductions
Guest Speakers
1) Chris Munroe, Construction Project Manager at the Office of Engineering/Dept. of Public Works, gave an update on the water pipe work being done in UFP.
Temporary water pipes were installed while the restoration and replacement work is being done (6 miles of water pipe replacement and 1 mile rehab work on large main from Gough-Eastern and Wolfe-Chester affecting 1,800 residents)
Estimated construction completion date is summer 2026.
When water service will be disrupted those affected will be given 72 hr. notice via flyer.
Notices about parking are posted 72 hrs. in advance - you will be towed if you don’t abide by the signs (check the signs for contact info/towing locations too).
Chris has requested DOT relocate cars instead of towing to impound.
Water pipes have to be flushed for sanitation (chlorine flush through pipes) so you may see water flowing down the street.
Will try to use temporary covers to preserve historic covers.
Galvanized pipes may be affected by water work but home owners are responsible
Warranties may be available
